As a manager, you`re expected to lead a team, set priorities, and allocate resources to an office or unit. UNFPA sometimes hires staff in its field offices as non-contractual service. Contractors are often not in a UNFPA office, but in an implementing partner. Service contracts are awarded in stages from 6 months to one year. As a general rule, we require you to have an advanced university degree for P&D level positions. Others are sent to the national level. A special service agreement (SSA) is a contractual arrangement within the United Nations system that establishes a legal relationship between the organization and the person in whom the person is an entrepreneur or service provider and not a collaborator. This modality is often used for very short contracts when the organization does not want to take on the burden of the complex bureaucracy of hiring new staff and deal with complex requirements and benefits. SB1 – This represents work in the areas of conservation, maintenance, safety, conduct and messengers; this operation is considered a mechanical and physical operation. SB2 – this is basic transformation and support work, including clerical and secretarial work and some technical functions; This work requires adequate education and appropriate professional experience.
